She's a Decade!

Our little Jane had a birthday! I love this sequence of pictures- she's so sick of schoolwork she's losing her marbles...

 I made her a necklace for essential oils. You drop the oil on a piece of felt and put the felt inside the filigree locket.

 We were all amazed at Jacob's gift idea. He drew outlines of a bunch of girls in dresses and told her it was a coloring book. So cool!

I made her a homemade chocolate hippy cake with rose petals and lavender for sprinkles.

Birthday Alert

Birthday waffles for Daddy.

Scarlet turned 4! Jane made her this fancy birthday hat.

She's a picky eater, but she does love angel food cake.

She got letter beads which turned out to be hours of fun for all the kids.

 Charlie turned 8! He's been preparing for his baptism by 

completing a baptism prep class with Tim and I. He loves to come up to our room Sunday evenings for some alone time but he can't stay too long because Jacob misses him and 

can't sleep until he comes back.

Grammy and Baba got him a Kobo. Fun!

I made a healthy carrot cake. 

We of course got him a suit for his baptism. Scarlet gave him her stuffy and Jacob made him some cool pin buttons and Jane gave him all her money she's saved up!!

The highlight of Charlie's day was that he caught a fish on his birthday!! He was the only one out of 13 people that caught one ;)

Berfs

We get to start January with birthdays. Ezra turned one, the next day Jane turned 9 and four days later, Jacob turned 6. I'm next at the end of the month
 but I'm trying not to think about it. I have getting old issues ;)

We don't really do a "real birthday" until you are three at our house. I know, it's cruel but they don't notice. For Ezra's Birthday the kids made him a puppet show, which he loved! He's into puppets lately.

He takes about 4 wobbly steps at a time now. I don't know what's taking him so long- the others were all walking well before one. 

Jane got mostly clothes this year except Grammy and Baba got her a cute little Nikon mini which she's been attached to ever since. She'll catch you on video at the most inopportune moments if you're not careful.

Birthday are a great time to get out the face painting.

This is the pre-party on Jacob's birthday. Jacob is under the yellow blanket. 

Both the boys had earaches. But Jacob heard about presents coming out and perked right up.

Grammy and Baba got him two birdies! He was so surprised. We had them flying all over our bedroom the night before while we set up the cage. Jacob pulls up a chair and just sits and watches them. Don't even ask what he named them.

Choopy is 7

We had a party at Grammy's with everyone there. Charlie was wired. I think it had to do with having a jillion presents...

Birthday Month

We have 3 out of 5 kids born in January and I'm a January birthday too. So 4 of us, and right after Christmas too. I don't know how this happened. 

 Jane woke up to this birthday door on the morning we celebrated her birthday.

I got a little fancy this year with the cupcakes- it's so not like me to do this kind of stuff. But don't 

worry, they were actually whole wheat, carrot spice muffins :0)

Uncle Jared got Jane an ipod! She was elated.

 Jane turned 8 this year so we are having her baptism on Feb 4th. She worked really hard in her Baptism Prep class to get ready. She did lots of reading and studying and she even memorized some scriptures on her own.

Jacob loves insects so this is his caterpillar cake. It was actually bran muffins- nobody even noticed :0)

Uncle Jared hooked him up with a remote control car and it was even red!
